🦅 Leadership Lesson: The General Who Knew When to Walk Away

Image
Today, we honor the Father of our Country, George Washington. While he was a master of  calculated risks —like crossing the frozen Delaware—his most powerful leadership move wasn't a military victory. It was his  humility and restraint . At the height of his power, Washington chose to resign his commission and later step down from the presidency, establishing the precedent of  servant leadership  that defined a nation. 3 Ways to Lead Like Washington Today: Integrity Over Ego:  Put the mission and your team's needs before your personal ambition. Consultative Decision-Making:  Washington was known for seeking diverse ideas from his subordinates before making a final call. Civility as a Standard:  He lived by "Rules of Civility," reminding us that respect and character are the bedrock of influence. Community Poll:  🗳️ Which of Washington’s leadership traits do you think is most needed in the world right now? 🛡️ Resilience under pressure 🤝 Humility...

Presidents Day 2026: A Reflection on Leadership and Legacy

Image
Presidents Day 2026 offers an opportunity to reflect on the leaders who have shaped the nation and the relevance of their legacies today. It's a chance to consider how historical decisions continue to influence our present. In 2026, the lessons from these figures are particularly relevant as we face contemporary challenges. Leaders like George Washington, who established leadership during the Revolutionary War, highlight the importance of vision, while Abraham Lincoln's resolve during the Civil War teaches resilience and unity. The philosophies of past presidents can offer guidance for today's dilemmas, prompting us to consider how we can apply their courage to current challenges. This day can be used to encourage discussions about responsible leadership. Leadership Legion is a business franchise that focused on teaching and training, and now building children with special needs, autism, and developmental disabilities how to be leaders and followers within inclusive communi...
